Gun Lanciai was born in Finland. She began studying art at the Ateneum in Helsinki in 1939, studies that were interrupted by war. Later on she studied in Buenos Aires under professor Esdras Gianella. She began her professional career as an artist in 1968 after having studied Scientology and L. Ron Hubbard's writings on art. She spent her last years living and working near Hornbæk, Denmark, together with her family. She passed away in March 2013. |

She held exhibitions solo and in cooperation with other artists, both nationally (Stockholm, Gothenburg) and internationally (Helsinki, Ottawa). Her main body of work is in terracotta sculptures (Dragonchildren, Jongleurs, Dobses), plaster of paris sculptures (Musicians, Dancers), or appliques, but she also drew and painted (preferably with watercolors). On occasion she undertook other projects as well. |
